What this role involves

Who are we?

At Leadership Connect, we believe that relationships are everything in business and in life. Founded by two former CEOs of S&P 500 companies and a former presidential press secretary, our premier information service is built for developing relationships that impact decisions in government, business, and media. Utilizing deep research expertise and cutting-edge technology, we help our clients win business and influence policy across various specialties and verticals. We are a close-knit team dedicated to helping each of our users make a difference.

Leadership Connect Canada (LCC), a subsidiary of Leadership Connect Inc., is our Canadian entity operating in the Quebec province. This opportunity requires an applicant to live and work within the Quebec province.

We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer or Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our CMS Team to design and build customer-facing applications across our services and web experience.

This is a hands-on role for an engineer comfortable moving between backend services and modern frontend development. You will work with Kotlin/Java and Spring on the server side and React, Vite, and TypeScript on the frontend, helping deliver high-quality product experiences from API to interface.

We value strong engineering fundamentals, attention to detail, collaboration, and engineers who are comfortable learning and applying modern technologies.

Core Functions of the Role

  • Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain full-stack applications that distribute high-value information to our customers.

  • Develop backend services and APIs using Kotlin/Java, Spring, and related technologies.

  • Build modern frontend experiences using React, Vite, and TypeScript.

  • Apply sound component architecture, state-management, asynchronous data-fetching, accessibility, and render-performance practices.

  • Work with relational and NoSQL databases, Elasticsearch, and large datasets.

  • Participate throughout the Agile development lifecycle, including sprint planning, design sessions, development, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality client experiences.

  • Contribute to code reviews, technical design, engineering standards, and improvements to team practices.

About You

  • 2+ years of professional software development experience for mid-level candidates or 6+ years for senior-level candidates.

  • Strong computer science and software engineering fundamentals through a CS-related degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java, with experience building server-side applications using Spring or an equivalent framework.

  • Strong proficiency building React/Vite applications with TypeScript.

  • Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, query languages, and data best practices.

  • Knowledge of HTTP, REST, and API design and development.

  • Familiarity with state management and asynchronous data-fetching patterns such as TanStack Query.

  • Attention to frontend component architecture and render performance.

  • Working knowledge of accessibility standards such as WCAG/ARIA.

  • Experience with automated testing, including unit and integration/end-to-end testing.

  • Experience with Git or other source-control software.

AI-Augmented Software Development

AI-assisted development is an important part of how we approach modern software engineering. We are particularly interested in candidates who meaningfully use tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot, or comparable coding agents in their regular workflow.

We want engineers who use AI to expand what they can accomplish while retaining responsibility for understanding and validating the result.

  • Use AI to understand unfamiliar codebases, research technologies, plan implementations, write and modify code, develop tests, debug problems, refactor systems, and automate repetitive work.
  • Critically evaluate AI-generated solutions, recognize incorrect assumptions, validate implementations, and know when direct engineering investigation is the better approach.
  • Experience with repository-level agent instructions, reusable agent workflows, MCP integrations, custom tooling, or agentic development processes is a plus.

Additional Experience We’d Value

Experience with some of the following is preferred; we don’t expect every candidate to have all of them:

  • AWS

  • Docker or other container technologies
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Elasticsearch or other search technologies
  • Microservices and distributed systems
  • Event-driven architectures

For Senior-Level Candidates

  • Strong system-design and architectural judgment.

  • Ownership of systems from design through production.

  • Ability to evaluate scalability, reliability, performance, maintainability, security, and cost tradeoffs.

  • Ability to diagnose complex problems across distributed systems.

  • Ability to turn ambiguous requirements into clear technical approaches.

  • Thoughtful code and design review skills.

  • Ability to mentor engineers and improve team effectiveness.

Engineer Senior Forward Deployed Engineer at Cloudflare

Senior engineer embedded with strategic customers to build and deploy production solutions using Cloudflare's platform while influencing product direction.

Senior Onsite Posted 4 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

About Us

At Cloudflare, we are on a mission to help build a better Internet. Today the company runs one of the world’s largest networks that powers millions of websites and other Internet properties for customers ranging from individual bloggers to SMBs to Fortune 500 companies. Cloudflare protects and accelerates any Internet application online without adding hardware, installing software, or changing a line of code. Internet properties powered by Cloudflare all have web traffic routed through its intelligent global network, which gets smarter with every request. As a result, they see significant improvement in performance and a decrease in spam and other attacks. Cloudflare was named to Entrepreneur Magazine’s Top Company Cultures list and ranked among the World’s Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company.

At Cloudflare, we’re not looking for people who wait for a polished roadmap; we’re looking for the builders who see the cracks in the Internet that everyone else has simply learned to live with. We value candidates who have the instinct to spot a “normalized” problem and the AI-native curiosity to create a solution using the latest tools. Our culture is built on iteration, leveraging AI to ship faster today to make it better tomorrow, while ensuring that every improvement, no matter how small, is shared across the team to lift everyone up. If you’re the type of person who values curiosity over bureaucracy, and that AI is a partner in solving tough problems to keep the Internet moving forward, you’ll fit right in.

Available Locations

  • San Francisco, US

About the Role

Cloudflare’s Senior Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) operate at the intersection of product engineering and customer impact.

As an FDE, you will be embedded within one of Cloudflare’s most strategic global customers, working side-by-side with their engineering teams to build and deploy solutions using Cloudflare’s platform. Unlike traditional Solutions Architects or consultants, you will write production code, shape technical architecture, and directly influence how Cloudflare products are used at massive scale.

You will operate as a technical extension of both organizations - helping the customer ship faster while surfacing real-world product insights back to Cloudflare engineering.

Responsibilities

This role is ideal for engineers who want to:

  • Stay deeply technical
  • Work on real production systems
  • Influence product direction
  • Build long-term partnerships with world-class engineering teams
  • Deep Technical Embedding: Serve as the dedicated, long-term technical partner within a strategic customer’s engineering organization, operating as a trusted extension of their team.
  • Production-Level Engineering: Design, build, and deploy production-ready code and configurations directly into customer infrastructure using the Cloudflare platform.
  • Technical Accountability: Own the account’s technical success across the entire Cloudflare portfolio. Serve as the primary technical point of contact, with other Cloudflare technical resources taking direction from your technical strategy for the account.
  • Operational Integration: Participate in customer engineering rituals, including daily standups, design reviews, and real-time incident response.
  • Platform Advocacy & Adoption: Identify opportunities to accelerate the adoption of Cloudflare services, unlocking new capabilities across the customer’s tech stack.
  • Platform Breadth & Depth: Deep technical competence in building production applications on a modern stack, combined with the willingness and ability to go deep on all Cloudflare product areas. From Workers to security, networking, and observability.
  • Feedback Loop & Product Influence: Surface real-world edge cases and product gaps directly to Cloudflare’s Product and Engineering teams to influence the developer platform roadmap.
  • Strategic Relationship Management: Establish and maintain trusted technical relationships with senior leadership (Staff+ engineers, Directors, and VPs).
  • On-Site Presence: Maintain a regular on-site presence at customer locations to foster deep collaboration and cultural alignment.

Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Proven Engineering Pedigree: 7+ years of professional software engineering experience. You are a builder at heart, with a track record of delivering production-grade systems, not just advising on them.
  • Languages: You are experienced with modern languages like TypeScript, Rust, Golang.
  • Production Ownership & Operational Maturity: You have owned mission-critical services with real-world users. You understand the gravity of on-call rotations, the urgency of incident response, and the architectural rigor required to maintain “five nines” uptime.
  • Active Practitioner: You are currently in the IDE. You have a “ship-first” mentality and maintain a high velocity, staying current with modern frameworks, languages, and deployment patterns.
  • Full-Stack Architectural Depth: Broad technical fluency across the entire stack—from frontend performance and backend logic to database optimization and distributed infrastructure.
  • AI-Native Development: You have integrated AI-augmented workflows (e.g., Windsurf, OpenCode) into your daily development cycle to accelerate prototyping and delivery.
  • Systems Design & Strategic Thinking: Ability to decompose complex business requirements into scalable, resilient technical architectures. You can visualize the “big picture” without losing sight of the implementation details.
  • Cloud Ecosystem Fluency: Deep experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including an understanding of serverless, networking, and security primitives.
  • High Agency & Navigating Ambiguity: You are a self-starter who thrives in “zero-to-one” environments. You don’t wait for a ticket; you identify the problem and own the solution from end-to-end.
  • Executive Presence: Comfortable engaging in high-stakes technical and strategic discussions with VP-level stakeholders, with the ability to translate complex engineering trade-offs into business impact.

Bonus Points

  • Direct experience building on Cloudflare Workers, or the broader Cloudflare Developer Platform.
  • Previous experience at a fast-paced startup or in a customer-facing engineering role where you operated directly within a partner’s codebase.
  • A visible public profile, including open-source contributions, technical blogging, or speaking engagements at industry conferences.

Engineer Site Reliability Engineer at Ooma, Inc.

Site Reliability Engineer manages on-premises data center infrastructure, bare metal servers, VMs, Kubernetes clusters, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure system stability and performance.

Senior Onsite Posted 6 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Here at Ooma we empower people to connect in smarter ways. We do this by creating powerful communication experiences through our cloud-based platform to bring people together at work and at home. Our solutions help small business owners stay connected with their customers and manage their businesses from anywhere. For larger companies we provide customized unified communications solutions to meet their unique needs. At home, we help our customers connect with their loved ones by providing the #1 rated VoIP phone service available. We also provide them with peace of mind through our innovative smart home security solution. At Ooma, all our products and services are priced competitively, because we believe advanced technology should be accessible to all.

About the Role:

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will leverage your extensive expertise in Linux systems, virtualization, containers, Kubernetes clusters, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure the stability and efficiency of our systems, collaborating across teams to implement best practices for infrastructure management, automated deployment, and application performance monitoring.

Deep on-premises experience is a core requirement, not a secondary consideration. Our production environment runs on our own hardware — large data centers built on hundreds of bare metal servers and VMs, with our own storage, virtualization, and physical network beneath them. You will operate comfortably at the hardware and OS layer while also owning the container and delivery platform on top of it.

**Location and Onsite Requirement: This role requires onsite work at least once per week at one of our designated data centers in Dallas, TX, Ashburn, VA or San Jose, CA. Candidates must be able to commute regularly to one of these locations. Relocation assistance and reimbursement for routine commuting, travel, or overnight lodging are not available.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide expert guidance on managing large data centers, including hundreds of bare metal servers and virtual machines (VMs), ensuring optimal configuration and performance.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, reliability, and availability using modern observability tools and techniques, with strong emphasis on diagnosing and resolving issues in operating systems and bare metal environments.
  • Manage the server hardware lifecycle — firmware and BIOS baselines, out-of-band management, failure triage, vendor and RMA coordination, capacity forecasting, and refresh planning.
  • Administer virtualization platforms and manage storage appliances across all data center locations worldwide.
  • Automate bare metal  and VM provisioning and OS lifecycle at scale.
  • Work hands-on with data center network infrastructure — VLANs, routing, link aggregation, load balancers, and firewall rules — troubleshooting latency, throughput, and packet loss from the Linux host outward, including multi-site and colocation resiliency.
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable infrastructure using containers, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture, including clusters on bare metal and on-premises VMs.
  • Oversee configuration management for consistent, reliable releases across environments, using Ansible for system configuration, patch management, and provisioning across data center infrastructure, and eliminating configuration drift across the fleet.
  • Design and operate high-throughput Kafka clusters for event streaming — topics, partitions, replication, consumer lag monitoring, and disaster recovery across data center infrastructure.
  • Implement name services and server management practices, including DNS, DHCP, NTP, directory and authentication services, and certificate management.
  • Collaborate with development teams to influence system design choices and operational policies, and continuously evaluate and integrate new technologies, hardware platforms, and automation approaches to improve operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Participate in on-call rotations supporting production systems, conduct blameless post-mortems with root cause analysis, and maintain incident response runbooks and procedures.
  • Create comprehensive technical documentation — runbooks, architectural diagrams, network topology maps, rack elevations, and capacity models — and maintain knowledge bases for operational procedures and best practices.

Experience We’re Looking For:

  • 8+ years of experience as an SRE or in a related field, with a strong focus on production systems, containers, microservices, and service delivery, required. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required; an advanced degree is strongly preferred.
  • Must have extensive on-premises data center experience managing large environments with hundreds of bare-metal servers and virtual machines. Experience with multi-site or colocation deployments, cross-site disaster recovery, and hybrid on-premises and cloud trade-offs is a plus.
  • Hands-on server hardware experience is essential, including firmware and BIOS management, out-of-band management, failure diagnosis, vendor coordination, and capacity and refresh planning.
  • Deep knowledge of Linux operating systems—including configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting—is expected.
  • A strong understanding of Linux networking concepts and protocols is necessary, along with familiarity with data center networking fundamentals such as VLANs, routing, load balancing, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Demonstrated experience with containers and orchestration technologies, particularly Kubernetes, is required, including running clusters on bare metal or on-premises virtual machines.
  • Must bring extensive experience managing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and the supporting technologies, including GitOps workflows, Argo CD, and Helm charts.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of observability tools such as Prometheus, the ELK Stack, log collectors, and Grafana is key to success in this role.
  • Experience with configuration management tools—particularly Ansible—is important. Infrastructure as code applied to physical infrastructure using Terraform providers, MAAS, Foreman, or similar technologies, as well as scripting in Python, Bash, or Go, would be advantageous.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex systems, identify bottlenecks, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions is critical. Experience operating Kafka or other high-throughput, stateful distributed systems on premises—including replication and disaster recovery—would be highly valued.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential, as is a willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and support work in physical data center environments when needed.#LI-CC1

About Gusto

At Gusto, we’re on a mission to grow the small business economy. We handle the hard stuff — payroll, health insurance, 401(k)s, and HR — so owners can focus on their craft and their customers. With teams in Denver, San Francisco, and New York, we support more than 500,000 small businesses nationwide and are building a workplace that reflects the people we serve.

All full-time employees receive competitive base pay, benefits, and equity (RSUs) — because everyone who helps build Gusto should share in its success. Offer amounts are determined by role, level, and location. Learn more about our Total Rewards philosophy.

AI is a fundamental part of how work gets done at Gusto. We expect all team members to actively engage with AI tools relevant to their role and grow their fluency as the technology evolves. AI experience requirements vary by role and will be assessed during the interview process.

About the Role:

Gusto is building AI agents that help small business owners get work done, whether by working alongside them or by automating their work entirely. AI Platform is the group that builds those agents and the underlying platform they run on, which other teams across Gusto also use to build agents of their own.

We’re looking for someone to lead the whole group: an organization of around 25 engineers, together with the managers who run each area. The platform is already in production and running a growing number of agents, so much of the work now is scaling it. That means helping the teams settle into their charters, working out what the shared platform should own versus what product teams build for themselves, and keeping the group’s direction aligned with Gusto’s broader AI strategy. There is considerable room for the group to grow from here.

About the Team:

AI Platform builds Gusto’s agents and the platform they run on, along with the AI features customers use directly. One team owns the shared layer: it connects Gusto’s products to the models, runs multi-step agent workflows reliably, and provides the model gateway, the tool and MCP registry, and the evaluation and observability tooling, so that any team can build an agent without recreating the same groundwork each time. It is built on LangGraph and the Vercel AI SDK. The other teams build the customer-facing agents on top of that platform, some working directly with customers and others running in the background to automate work on their behalf.

It’s already a highly cross-functional group, with product managers, designers, and data scientists working as part of the team alongside the engineers. It partners with product and AI/ML science teams across the rest of Gusto, and reports to the Head of Engineering, Core Experiences.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • You’ll lead the group’s technical strategy for building agents that assist and automate work for small business owners, and ensuring they’re built on a platform other teams at Gusto can use.
  • Set the technical direction and roadmap for the group, including the ongoing question of what the shared platform should own and what product teams build for themselves as more of the company comes to rely on it.
  • Lead and empower the managers and tech leads in the group, supporting those already in place, hiring ahead of the group’s growth, and building strong leadership for each of the teams as they take shape.
  • Set the engineering standards for how agents behave, treating prompts, tools, and policies as production code and owning the evaluation and guardrail approach that keeps these non-deterministic systems reliable and cost-aware.
  • Work closely with the product and data science partners in the group, and with the teams across Gusto that build on the platform, so that it meets their needs and becomes the way teams build agents across the company.
  • Represent AI engineering to senior leadership, and keep the group’s work connected to Gusto’s broader AI strategy.
  • Champion AI-native ways of working, and build a team that engineers and managers want to be part of and grow in.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • 12+ years in engineering, including at least 5 leading through other managers and tech leads. You’ve grown other leaders and empowered them to run their teams.
  • A track record of shipping AI or agent products that people rely on, with clear ownership of the engineering behind them. You understand how these systems work in depth: LLM agents, orchestration, tool calling, RAG, and the evaluation and monitoring that keep them dependable.
  • The ability to set technical strategy across several teams and see it through, including aligning teams you don’t directly manage around shared outcomes.
  • Enough technical depth to engage senior engineers on a difficult architecture decision, without needing to write the code yourself.
  • Experience growing an engineering organization, ideally somewhere that was still finding its shape.
  • You treat reliability, evaluation, and guardrails as core engineering work rather than a step left to the end.
  • Comfort leading a cross-functional group, working closely with product managers, designers, and data scientists as much as with engineers.
  • You develop and empower other leaders, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences, and work well across many teams.

It’s a plus if you’ve worked across both platform and product engineering, built with a framework like LangGraph or the Vercel AI SDK, or have led in fintech or another regulated environment.

Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $274,000 to $305,000 in Denver and most remote locations, and $321,000 to $356,000 for San Francisco, New York, and Seattle. Annual cash incentives and Stock equity is additional. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience, level, and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto’s subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.

Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.

When approved to work from a location other than a Gusto office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required.

Our vision is to create the world’s leading AI platform for enterprise sales teams - helping organisations improve every stage of the complex sales process through intelligent insights.

The product already has a substantial V1 MVP and a clear commercial vision. We are now focused on launching our first commercial product and building a world-class engineering team, working alongside an experienced venture capital investor who is supporting the founding team and the company’s growth.

About the role

This is a genuine founder opportunity rather than a conventional CTO position. Working alongside the Founder & CEO, you will take ownership of the company’s technology strategy, architecture, engineering and product delivery.

This is a highly hands-on role. In the early stages, you will write production code, review code, make architectural decisions and help deliver new functionality every week alongside the founder and a full-time developer. As the business grows, you will recruit, mentor and lead the engineering team while remaining closely involved in technical direction and product innovation.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys building products, solving difficult technical problems, and creating exceptional software.

This is an office-based role. During the initial growth phase, the founding team works together in person, five days per week - close, day-to-day collaboration is expected to accelerate product development, decision-making, and company building.

Your responsibilities

  • Owning the technology vision and technical roadmap,

  • Leading software architecture and engineering decisions,

  • Actively developing product features and contributing production-quality code,

  • Building secure, scalable, enterprise-grade multi-tenant SaaS architecture,

  • Working closely with the Founder & CEO to shape product strategy and priorities,

  • Recruiting, mentoring and leading the engineering team,

  • Establishing engineering standards, testing, CI/CD and development processes,

  • Ensuring platform security, reliability and operational excellence,

  • Helping build a high-performance engineering culture.

Who we are looking for (must-have)

  • Significant experience building commercial SaaS products,

  • Strong full-stack software engineering background,

  • Experience building AI-powered applications using modern LLMs and AI frameworks,

  • Excellent software architecture and cloud engineering experience,

  • Experience leading engineering teams,

  • Strong commercial awareness and product instincts,

  • Fluent spoken and written English.

Nice to have

  • Experience using AI-enabled IDEs,

  • Startup or scale-up experience,

  • Genuine founder ambitions and comfort working in ambiguity,

  • Willingness to be based in, or relocate to, the GdaĹ„sk / Tricity area.

What we offer

  • A genuine founder role with real influence over the company’s technology strategy and direction,

  • The opportunity to help build a category-leading AI company from the ground up,

  • Remuneration: at least PLN 17 000 net B2B + VAT,

  • A package of shares in the co-created start-up,

  • Support from an experienced startup studio and capital group,

  • Access to industry experts and startup-building know-how,

  • Fast decision-making and a high-impact environment.

Red Sky is conducting this recruitment process. The cooperation concerns a Bit Edge start-up.

Recruitment process

  1. Interview with HR (~45 min)

  2. Tech Interview (~ 60 min.)

  3. Interview with the CEO (~30 min)

  4. Interview with the Investor (~45 min)

  5. Workshops (technical & product alignment)

  6. Agreeing on the terms of cooperation (remuneration)

Engineer Systems Engineer, Autonomous Systems at Blue River Technology

Designs and develops autonomous systems for heavy construction equipment, working on perception, planning, and control algorithms in unstructured environments.

What this role involves

We’re Blue River, a team of innovators driven to create intelligent machinery that solves monumental problems for our customers. We empower our customers - farmers, construction crews, and foresters to implement safer and more sustainable solutions, driving increased profitability with less reliance on scarce labor. We believe that focusing on the small stuff, pixel-by-pixel and task-by-task, leads to big gains.

Blue River Technology aligns with John Deere’s vision to “innovate on behalf of humanity” by quickly identifying and solving high-value, high-uncertainty challenges in AI, machine learning, computer vision, and robotics. BRT acts as a research and development flywheel, building not only new products but also new platforms that reliably create value for both Deere and its customers. From fully autonomous machines to highly precise farming equipment, BRT and Deere are partnering to deliver technical breakthroughs across industries such as agriculture and construction.

Our people are at the heart of what we do. Through cross-disciplinary collaboration, this mission-driven team is eager to define the new frontier of robotics. We are always asking hard questions, rapidly iterating, and getting our boots in the field to figure it out. We won’t give up until we’ve made a tangible and positive impact on the planet!

Blue River Technology is based in Santa Clara, CA.

Summary

Construction is facing a structural labor shortage that isn’t going away. An aging workforce, declining trade enrollment, and growing infrastructure demand mean the industry needs autonomy, not as a novelty, but as a necessity. The market opportunity is massive, and the technology gap is real.

We’re building machines that navigate, perceive, and operate in unstructured heavy-construction environments - dirt, dust, steep grades, and dynamic site conditions that challenge the assumptions baked into most autonomy stacks. The technical problems are real and unsolved: robust perception across sensor modalities in environments that degrade each one, planning and controls for heavy equipment with dynamics unlike those of a passenger car, and safeguarding systems where the consequences of getting it wrong are severe. Construction autonomy also has structural advantages over public-road self-driving. Sites are partially or fully closed, the set of actors is known and constrained, and there is real opportunity to define and enforce operational design domain restrictions. This means a shorter path from a capable prototype to a deployed product – the kind of environment where strong engineering decisions translate into shipped systems, not endless corner-case tails.

We are seeking a motivated Senior Systems Engineer for Blue River Technology’s autonomous construction initiative. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining our requirements framework, driving robust verification and validation (V&V) processes, and building simulation tools that ensure our machinery operates safely and reliably in complex environments. This highly cross-functional role spans hardware, software, machine learning, and functional safety, covering the entire development lifecycle from early development and testing to field deployment. We are looking for an experienced, collaborative systems thinker eager to bridge engineering disciplines and shape the future of construction autonomy.

  • Employment Type: Full-Time
  • Work Location: Remote in the United States.
  • Visa sponsorship: Open to visa sponsorship.

Job Responsibilities

A combination, not necessarily all-inclusive, of the following:

  • Own the requirements lifecycle. You will elicit, define, and maintain system and subsystem-level requirements across hardware, software, and machine learning components.
  • Maintain traceability. You will establish and manage rigorous requirements traceability matrices to seamlessly connect high-level operational concepts down to component specifications and test cases.
  • Drive V&V strategy. You will design, document, and execute comprehensive verification and validation plans, defining test procedures for both simulated and physical field-testing environments.
  • Build validation tooling. You will develop, script, and maintain custom simulation tools and validation frameworks to analyze vehicle performance, edge-case behaviors, and safety boundaries.
  • Execute risk mitigation. You will actively contribute to and facilitate FMEAs (Failure Mode and Effects Analyses), FTAs, and Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessments (HARA) to ensure robust system safety.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally. You will serve as a critical technical bridge, translating complex concepts between machine learning researchers, embedded software engineers, hardware designers, and safety managers.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Robotics, Aerospace, Computer Science, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of post-academic experience in systems engineering for sophisticated, safety-critical cyber-physical systems (autonomous vehicles, robotics, aerospace).
  • Proven track record of designing, documenting, and executing robust V&V programs for complex systems.
  • Strong scripting or programming skills (Python, C++, MATLAB/Simulink) used to build, customize, and maintain simulation and validation tools.
  • Experience with structured systems engineering methodologies and requirements management tools (Jama, DOORS, Jira).

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Direct experience working with heavy machinery, agricultural equipment, or off-highway autonomous vehicles.
  • Familiarity with functional safety frameworks and standards relevant to autonomy (ISO 26262, ISO 19014, ISO 21448/SOTIF, IEC 61508).
  • Experience validating machine learning models, perception stacks, or autonomy behavior logic in safety-critical applications.
  • Hands-on experience working cross-functionally to gather and maintain requirements spanning software, hardware, vehicle systems, and Operational Design Domain (ODD).
  • Familiarity with robotics middleware and frameworks like ROS/ROS2.

Only individual applicants will be considered. We do not work with unsolicited third-party agencies or proxy interview services.
