·       Check labels, room names, linework, alignment, spelling and overall floorplan presentation before delivery; make revisions quickly when requested

Quality Assurance & Team Communication

·       Complete a final quality-control check before every job is submitted

·       Follow written instructions, job notes, examples and feedback precisely

·       Communicate clearly in English when a brief is unclear or a production issue is identified

·       Be receptive to feedback, retain corrections and apply learnings consistently to future work

·       Manage priorities calmly when multiple jobs are due and escalate any risk to deadlines early

·       Participate in strategy and consulting meetings on technical matters – internal and external – for company and client interests

Must-have Skills / Qualification:

·       2–3+ years of professional photo editing experience in a commercial or production environment

·       Strong practical experience with Adobe Photoshop, including colour correction, exposure adjustments, retouching, masking, layers, selections, object removal and image clean-up

·       Good working knowledge of Adobe Lightroom for processing and editing large volumes of images

·       Experience with Adobe Firefly or other AI-assisted photo editing tools is highly desirable, with the ability to review and refine AI-generated results to ensure they meet professional standards

·       Strong visual judgement, with a good eye for colour, exposure, composition, consistency, realism and overall image presentation

·       Ability to work on high-volume image production, with an expected workload of approximately 60–80 images/jobs per day when completed manually, potentially increasing to around 100+ when using AI-assisted workflows

·       Strong file management and production discipline, including organising, naming, processing, uploading and managing large volumes of image files accurately

·       Ability to follow detailed editing instructions, job briefs, mark-ups and established production standards

Design visual brand assets including web graphics, technical diagrams, event experiences, and marketing collateral for a developer-focused database company.

Mid Posted 1 day ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

PlanetScale is growing rapidly and reinventing the database space. Our database platform offers developers the fastest and most reliable Postgres and Vitess/MySQL databases, enabling businesses to efficiently handle data and workloads of all sizes.

PlanetScale is backed with over $100M in venture financing from top-tier VCs including a16z, Kleiner Perkins, SignalFire, and Insight Venture Partners. And we serve some of the most innovative companies in the world such as Block, Anysphere (Cursor), MyFitnessPal, Etsy, Kick, and thousands more. Our customers entrust us with what is often their most precious digital asset, their data, so the stakes couldn’t be higher.

We’re looking for a Brand Designer to help shape and evolve the visual identity of PlanetScale across all touchpoints. In this role, you’ll be a key member of our Marketing team, translating complex technical concepts into compelling visual stories that resonate with developers and technical decision-makers. You’ll craft everything from in-person event experiences to web graphics, merch designs, and creative website assets that make databases feel exciting.

What’s the job to be done?

Visual Brand Development

  • Design web graphics including technical diagrams, illustrations, and interactive visual assets that simplify complex database concepts.
  • Create compelling visual systems for campaigns, product launches, and marketing initiatives.
  • Design for multiple formats and contexts: digital, print, experiential, and merchandise.

In-Person Experiences

  • Design booth graphics, signage, and environmental branding for conferences, meetups, and community events.
  • Collaborate with the events team to create memorable, on-brand experiences that stand out
  • Design merch that developers actually want to wear and use.
  • Create branded collateral including banners, posters, stickers, and promotional materials.

Website and Digital Assets

  • Design creative website components and landing pages.
  • Design data visualizations and technical diagrams that make complex information accessible.
  • Create social media graphics, blog post imagery, and other digital marketing assets.
  • Develop templates and design systems that enable the team to move quickly.

Brand Evolution

  • Collaborate with marketing leadership to evolve and expand the PlanetScale brand identity.
  • Explore new visual directions while maintaining brand coherence.
  • Document design decisions and maintain brand guidelines.

These attributes best describe you.

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating versatile design skills across digital, print, and experiential design.
  • Deep understanding of design fundamentals: typography, color, composition, and visual hierarchy.
  • You’ve figured out where AI actually helps in a design workflow and built process around it.
  • Comfortable working in both brand and production modes. You can think big picture and execute in the details.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to both articulate design decisions and understand direction.
  • Self-directed and able to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Collaborative spirit with the ability to incorporate feedback while maintaining creative vision.

What else will help you be successful.

  • Experience designing for technical or developer-focused brands.
  • Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and other design tools.
  • Comfortable using AI to build a working first draft of a page rather than handing off a static mockup.
  • Understanding of design systems and component-based thinking.
  • Enthusiasm for learning about databases, infrastructure, and developer tools.

Why PlanetScale

Design Graphic Designer at Once Upon a Farm

Design packaging, print, and digital creative assets across retail, DTC, and experiential channels for a food brand.

Mid Posted 9 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Who You Are: You are the kind of designer who gets a thrill from seeing your work on a shelf, in a mailbox, or ten feet tall at an event. You’re fluent in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and AI programs. You’re organized down to your file names: a dozen projects can be in flight and you still hit your deadlines and catch the details others miss. You take feedback as fuel, share credit generously, and jump in wherever the team needs hands.

The Task At Hand: This role brings the Once Upon a Farm brand to life everywhere parents and kids meet us — on the shelf, in the cooler, in the mailbox, on the phone, and out in the world. You’ll concept and design packaging, print, and digital work across a growing portfolio and a fast-expanding retail footprint. This is a hands-on maker’s role with real range: one week you’re concepting new package artwork, the next you’re checking press files or building signage for a live activation. If you want your work in front of millions of families nationwide, this is the seat. This role reports to the VP of Creative + Community on the Marketing Team.

In This Role, You Will:

Print Design

  • Design DTC insert catalogs and postcards that make opening a box feel like a gift
  • Design signage for activations and experiential events — booths, banners, backdrops, wayfinding, and giveaways
  • Design signage for retail stores and out-of-home media, from cooler and shelf graphics to billboards and transit
  • Design any other print items as needed for the brand

Creative Packaging Design

Design Graphic Designer at Once Upon a Farm

Graphic designer creates packaging, print, and digital assets for a food brand across retail, DTC, and experiential channels.

  • Lead creative concepting for package artwork across cartons, pouches, labels, film, and cases
  • Concept and iterate rapidly with emerging design & AI tools, bringing packaging ideas to life without compromising brand accuracy, craft, or premium feel.
  • Update older package designs with new interpretations of our look and feel, keeping the portfolio cohesive as the brand evolves

Digital Design

  • Design assets for retail partners, including sell-in materials, sell-sheets, coupons, and shopper marketing creative
  • Work with the Digital Graphic Designer as needed to help design ads, social media graphics, and email creative that stop the scroll and still feel unmistakably us
  • Build and maintain templates and design systems so the team can move fast without drifting off brand
  • Design any other digital items as needed for the brand

Production & Vendor Relations

Interview Process

  1. Spark Hire Intro Video (3–5 minutes)
  2. Portfolio Review
  3. Client Interview
  4. Offer & Onboarding

What Happens After You Apply

After submitting your application, you’ll receive an email invitation from Spark Hire to record a short 3–5 minute Intro Video. This is the first step in our hiring process and can be completed whenever it’s convenient for you.

Rather than repeating your experience across multiple screening calls, you’ll have one opportunity to introduce yourself, discuss your UX/UI design background, walk through your product design process, highlight relevant SaaS projects, and explain how you’ve approached user research, design systems, and cross-functional collaboration. Your video will be reviewed by the hiring team before moving to the portfolio review and client interview.

You can record your video as many times as you’d like before submitting it—only your final version will be reviewed.

Please keep an eye on both your inbox and spam folder for your Spark Hire invitation after applying.
